Pros and cons of The Long Siege app for iPhone and iPad

The Long Siege app good for

Some of the match-three type games are too easy and repetitive. This one is very challenging and very hard. Just started playing today, but I cant put it down. Excellent game so far.
I really enjoy this game and have had no issues(iPhone 5s) My only qualm is a regular one with IOS games: if I minimize or lock my screen, i will lose my progress. Often happens with games but seems its every time with this one.

Some bad moments

The underlying game concept is actually quite interesting, like every match generates a real time unit/action and the whole game continuously runs, but this game is just lame: matching mechanics is lame, gfx pretends to be cute and does not have game feel to it, music is lame and annoying string ensemble tango-mango, animations are stupid, color scheme is boring, battle action in the upper part of the screen is not paid attention to.
I got the game and basically unlocked everything except one item because the game is unfinished. Not only is this game short.(finished it in one day) but it is also unfinished as there is no way for me to get the last item. The final stage basically summons the boss monster non-stop until you die and because there is no way for me to finish the stage, I cant complete the final quest and get the last item. I warn anyone who is trying to spend money on an unfinished game and wait until they actually finish making the game.
I have never been able to play the game, because it crashes after the title screen every time.
I love Match 3 games (this one is a "slide the row or column," rather than a "swap the blocks" style game) and this one has a great game lurking under a picky performance. The art work is wonderful, the idea of tower defense is fine...but the controls are so picky. I wish the matches "clicked" into place a little bit. Instead, I find myself moving the tiles and having them be, ooooh, just a little too far right, now just a little too far left, oops, a little too far right...its very frustrating. If the developers could adjust this a bit, I think the game would be greatly improved. It would also be nice to be able to move blocks while the blocks are settling into place...I find myself waiting too much to make a move.
was so very excited to get this and no matter what I do it wont play!!!!!!!Why is this???????Fix it please!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is this even fair for someone paying Money to play?????
This match 3 RPG puzzler is similar to 10000000 and You Must Build A Boat (YMBAB), with some cool innovations, nice artwork and an interesting upgrade system. The only thing that Long Siege could learn from YMBAB is to allow continuous matching. Right now the screen dims and pauses between matches, and it is quite frustrating when you are used to faster moving games. Also, the match detection and UI scrolling is not very good, compared to YMBAB which feels much faster and more responsive. If they can fix these two minor issues, this is definitely a 5 star game.
